    SEC the Women's Soccer Powerhouse

Three SEC teams alive in the NCAA tournament final 8. Texas A&M, Florida, and S.C. I think SEC women's soccer is on the rise.

Also Florida and Florida State are both still alive, pretty impressive.

    Impressive showing for SEC.

ACC only two this year which is surprising.

If SEC can get at least one to final four it could be very significant for league. SEC rising some at the very least.

it would be nearly miraculous as the SEC has not had a finalist at the Championship games in last 10 years. I did not look back further.

the following have made it to the championship games over the last 10 yrs:

      SEC - 0
      ACC - 12
      Pac 12 - 7
      Big 10 - 1

Cannot argue this kind of data. ACC is the top conference.

SEC and Big 12 are pretty distant 4-5.

Good showing so far this year at the very least. Agree it says nothing overall though.

The past is the past, looks like the tide has turned to the SEC this year going forward-I think we can all agree on this. The Past=ACC, The Present=SEC, The Future=SEC

Money talks...SEC football money is likely helping them improve other sports. Lots of money to fund all their scholarships, lots of money for recruiting budgets, and lots of money to hire high and retain quality coaching staffs. I'd bet warmer weather compared to much of the ACC is also attractive

Yea, one year does not a trend make. Props to the SEC for getting 3/8 teams but head-to-head ACC v SEC it was 1-1. So Carolina beat No Carolina but Virgina beat Kentucky 7-0! 7-0 in a Sweet Sixteen game? Come on, man.

Last year the ACC had 6/8 and 3/4 so we will see what this weekend brings.

On another note, UF made the Elite Eight for the first time since 2003. Meanwhile, FSU made it for the 10th year in a row!!

Hey, we get that you're a Gater and struggle with concepts and all so let me say again, one year does not a trend make. FSU won in 2013, 2012 & 2011.

Just be happy that you have made the Elite Eight for the first time in 11 years. Welcome to the party, we've been waiting for you.

Just like a gater, can't think of anything intelligent to say. Hey, I hear the teacher saying recess is over. Better hurry up. It's music special day!

this is funny and relevant. If you are a UF fan, being defensive is just childish. I am definitely not a FSU football fan, but will support women's soccer programs wherever they are and FSU has done very well for themselves. It will be interesting to see whether any of the SEC teams make it to the championship game.

UNC lost 8 starters this season to graduation. They are young and will be re-tooled next year. Duke and Wake Forest were in the same boat. Virginia and FSU are the strongest ACC teams this season. FSU will lose a ton of starters to graduation after the season. Virginia has a great coach and will remain strong. One bad ACC season does not equal SEC is on the rise. Just ask Kentucky! (Lost 7-0 to Virginia on Sunday in the Round of 16!)

The SEC added Missouri and Texas A&M last year. Both have strong soccer programs. SC and Florida are normally strong each year. Some SEC schools are at least trying to find good coaches for their programs, but then again many are not. Miss St's coach is an idiot (and he is two years in and team is already worse than when he got there!) and Vandy's coach has sucked for many years! LSU's coach needs to go as he is satisfied with .500 teams in the SEC!

AAC and SEC are equal in my book. The ACC and Pac 12 are equal too.

AAC and SEC are equal? One of them had 7 teams make the NCCA tournament and had 3 teams remaining. The other had umm please let us know?
