    EMGSCA Meeting

So today was the meeting - who makes Emass All-Star and All-State? All-NE and All-American?

How is this even decided? The coaches all get together and name their favorite player?

Pretty much. Coaches get to nominate. Then they vote.

Players know. I can't remember if it was posted on the website last year with the game info.

Should have looked before I replied. Last year they posted them on December 3. Maybe they wait until after the postseason is over so not to cause a distraction.

Players are chosen for the league all stars and then the coach needs to be a member of the eastern mass coaches association for their players to be selected for emass all stars. Then they need to be members of the nscaa for their players to be able to get all region/all American.
the meeting is attended by whatever coach wants to go and each league is allowed one vote.

But a. Ouch isn't allowed to vote for a player on his team.

So for girls, are you saying that only the teams listed in the link below would have players qualify for consideration as Eastern Mass All-Stars?

Then a similar situation for All-State, All-New England, and All-American?

Each League is allowed one vote. So Baystate League as a whole can vote for one player to be their Eastern Mass All-Star pick. Dual County League as a whole can vote for one player to be their Eastern Mass All-Star pick. Etc. How do multiple players from the same league get picked. Or are you referring to the State/NE/Country level? I guess the #1 player in Eastern Mass goes to the New England Level then you are really getting into a situation where a player has to have some pretty outstanding stats to even figure out who is an All-American candidate.

Last year Rivers had an All American. She played for a fairly nondescript MPS team. Hardly anyone knew about her but she was actually about as solid a CB as you are going to find. As a freshman this year she was just voted 2nd team All Ivy. Kind of shoots some holes in your logic.

Each league gets on vote but all of the top 7-10 all stars for each league are eligible to be voted for. So a league could have multiple all emass, state, NE, etc.

The All America selections should still be playing HS soccer games
