Congrats to your kid if he or she has found a school that he likes and might continue playing soccer there. Share the good news with friends and family. TS is not your friends and family, which you will quickly find out if you post any kind of commitment news here. Keep it private as long as possible.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAgree, I have been reading the 2014 Boys thread since the beginning. I like to see where the Players from the Northeast are going. It is great to recognize their accomplishment. Lets understand that it takes incredible work ethic and commitment to continue playing in college at any level. Let's keep it positive.

OP of the boys commit threads here. I coach boys so I know litle of girls soccer, but I know the tools to access the commit names. I was curious what the differential of boys/girls commits are, so I decided to help get you folks started.
Gabrielle Carreiro-FC Stars-BC
Julianna Chen-NEFC-?-BU
Pietra Sweeny-FC Stars-Acton-BU
Jennifer Caruso-FC Stars-Brockton-Brown
Allison Wiggins-FC Stars-Methuen-Harvard
Amber Gustafson-NEFC-Lancaster-Longwood
Hailee Duserik-NEFC-Canton-UNH
Madison MacLean-Seacoast-Amesbury-UNH
Eve Goulet-FC Stars-?-Northeastern
Rosemarie Boyd-FC Stars-Acton-Penn
Alexa Elworthy-FC Stars-Sutton-PC
Eva Gourdeau-FC Stars-Beverly-Syracuse
About twice as many girls as boys at this point, and the schools are a little better pedigree academically IMO. Neither is a surprise. I will not be maintaining this, so I leave that to the OP here. Congrats to all of the above.

Please stop this thread now. If a parent wishes to publicize their child's commitment that is their prerogative and there is actually a well know place for them to do that. Outside of the names on that list no one has the right to link a player to a college.

Simple. If one club has more D1 commitments than other clubs, then those other clubs need a way to rationalize those results as not real. Typically this is done by arguing that the clubs with better results had no correlation with the outcomes and that talent was the only key factor, or that the kids actually aren't that talented and aren't really D1 commits so the results are obviously just a function of overreaching and/or propaganda and are therefore false positives. Any method of discrediting will do as long as the club in question gets zero credit (unless of course it is the complainer's club in which case that club will take credit and the outcome will be advertised as a sign of that club's burgeoning success). In general, though, these people don't want commitments posted period because of the perception that others could be influenced by the apparently good results of certain clubs, thereby indirectly having a negative impact on their club that cannot match the outcomes but nevertheless wants to claim being at least an equal and actually an even more attractive club choice. When confronted, these people will argue very passionately and righteously about protecting children and children being abused, and yet the same folks won't be shy at all about plastering good outcomes from their clubs when that happens. In fact, they will contradict all of their previously deeply held principles and exploit their own kids to argue that their club's different and more humane approach (never actually demonstrated) is the key factor in what is sold as an important change in trend. So, in other words, the complaints have absolutely nothing to do with kids at all and are entirely a function of a compulsion to manage perceptions, and especially the perceptions of anyone who might be influenced and who might even partially make decisions based on those perceptions.
