    U12g schedules are bad

I see that some teams that are high in the got-soccer rankings play an easy schedule. I even see b level teams as top rated. Creeks obviously play a top national schedule and they are the only ones who i see deserve to be leading the rankings. The south Florida teams beat up on each other and most of them are competitive especially in palm beach. Is there a league for upcoming u13 that can level the competitive field so the better teams can compete with each other? The teams on the west coast don't appear to be that competitive at this age group. I could be wrong!

Creeks by far earned their spot. A couple of others fkk and jfc elite have not benefitted with points but are much better than many of the top 15 teams. Region A teams would benefit it they all played in the same league. West coast? San Carlos is a very good team. There are a few others that are also competitive. U13 does not have a state league. So each region hopes that all the best teams play in the same league.

Gotsoccer points for the U12 girls teams are worthless. The ranking is so bad, you should throw the points away and start over. If you look at the highest ranked teams, you can see they bought their points by playing in a lot of tournaments. It means nothing with respect to ranking.

I think Gotsoccer should add a button that says "Buy Points Now" and just sell points for cash.

The got soccer points are bad now and are never perfect, but other teams as the get older will play in Disney Showcases and other big state tournament and league that will earn them high points to put them above the Tournament point hunters. By the end of next year the better teams will start to stack up at the top. U14 top 10 will be clear of pretenders.

Yes there is other teams out side of Region A. CKK, FKK, JFC, FC America, Rush for B, Strictly, WFF, TBU and San Carlos from C.

Most of those teams will be in NPL next year, along with the teams from A that play in NPL.

sunrise just got back from PDA tournament and made the semi finals againest some of the top tournament tested teams in the country. won first two games and then lost to number 4 team in country. that number 4 beat the number 2 earlier in year. sunrise lost 1-0.
i would say that was a good showing.

points go away after 1 year so what does it matter. teams playing in tougher tournaments and leagues will go right past the easy point chasers anyway

This is so true. It must be the GotSoccer people who called you worthless because they are protecting their pocket book. The truth is, the effect is moderated some at the older ages, but it is also true at all ages. The teams that go to big tournaments or play in a league with one team that has a lot of points, get points. There are teams that finish 7th or 8th in their league play that get relatively huge points because of one team (that beats up on them all). Then there are teams that play tough competition or up or in tournaments that aren't GotSoccer tournaments, that get no points but are much better teams than some of these teams that finish way down in their league play or their tournament.

In some ways, it's just the evolution of the ranking system, and GotSoccer is as good as any of them. But all of the ranking systems are biased to the teams that participate (and pay) in their model. Soccer in College has a different system with people that pay them and only include their games, and I saw two others just today. One is totally biased toward Virginia and the mid-atlantics because it is up there, etc.

The flaw with GotSoccer (other than that it has no current way of getting all of the scores) is that it rewards teams that spend money on tournaments -- and it ranks tournaments and leagues based on the number of GOTSOCCER points the teams have that participate in those events.

And I meant to say, Sunrise has this all figured out (at least on the girls side). The are in the top two of U12 through U17, except one age group that is top 10. Not because they are the best, but because they go to a lot of tournaments. Then when they compete in league play, all of the teams get big points for beating them or even for finishing near the bottom of the league.

Ouch! I thought that those teams played in tough events! Including creeks. If you play teams in your league and you win, then you play in what should be a competitive tournament and you win, why do you still get bashed? No win with you guys

If you play in good tournaments and you win, you are correct. Who decides a good tournament?

And what if you just play in a lot of tournaments, but you rarely win? In most of these tournaments, there are teams that don't belong. Just look at the groups, you can tell the teams that lose all games by shut out -- or the two teams, but then the crummy two have to play each other so one gets a win or they both get a tie.

In most of these tournaments, that gets you to a place where you get points. And by the way, the points are determined, essentially by the points of the teams in the flight. So, the more tournaments you play in, even if you rarely if ever win, the more points you get.

I think U12 is harder to discern this, but look for example at the OCYS U13 team. & tournaments, always a finalist -- and some of these are second flight. Usually losses to a different opponent -- big points. Much of the points determined because of THEIR rank (based on their POINTS).

Then look at the FLUGSA league play for the U13G. The 9TH place finisher out of ten, 3W-1D-14L, got 59 points! Really? Is that a performance that deserves points? Those points are primarily because of the points Sunrise carries to the league because of all of their tournament play. Granted, they do win and probably deserve their rank, but it is the GOTSOCCER point system we are talking about. So, at the younger ages, it has a disproportionate effect that provides little credibility.

Congrats to Sunrise - great accomplishment. Can I ask if Sunrise had any guest players?

Sunrise needs to just shut up...They got beat by a team that can't even pass the ball in President's Cup. Just play and quit telling everybody how great you are, especially when you're not.

That goes to show you the unevenness of the tournament. 3 teams from CT. Two Ct top ten and one top 20, then sunrise. Yet the point given close to 2000 pts for finishing second in a bracket? Not impressed with the two wins. Impressed with the close loss. If Sunrise did that in the second bracket, I would of been really impressed. Everyone of them was a top ten from 3 different states. Just 4000 for that tournament and 2000 for finishing 3 or fourth is way high. Florida teams really need to head to these northern tournaments mor often.

Sunrise. 3rd or 4th in this tournament , not even 4th in the state.
