That's right. There's never been a good player developed in any other part of the state; just those studs that have come up through SSS. Everyone else should have quit long ago.

I think you meant clubs. Here is my two cents in no particular order.

            MPS
            Aztecs
            NEFC
            SS Selects
            Seacoast

Oh yes, the mighty MPS english Lads who come over and beg parents to take them in free of charge, parents pick up the tab, MPS pays them less than minimim wage and coaches could care less about development as much as just staying as long as possible in the old good USA.

You would have to add the scorpions to that list their young teams are much better than their older ones and they recruit for the older ones and develop the younger ones.

I would agree unlike Stars which is the reversal.

Virtually every club in the state does an adequate job of developing young players. There is a likely drop off that is more talent related as they age rather than club shortcomings. Again, much of the better talent migrates to particular clubs which lends an aura to their hyperbolic claims. Any coach worth their salt knows how to do it, but the supporters of club a or b would have you believe that they are exclusively the best, which an educated soccer person should dismiss outright.
But, the purpose of your post is not to seek enlightenment, is it?
More likely to stir the pot of club rivalry and give perspective and btdt a platform to spew more of their vitriolic venom and self-puffery, eh?
I predict at least 8 pages of rehash.

MPS? Really? You made sure that you avoided either of the clubs with ECNL teams. I'm sure that Scorpions have never developed anyone of consequence in Mass Youth Soccer.

You nailed it. This was meant strictly to incite a riot of Stars and Scorpions posts, at which point the NEFC guys will respond that "that's all ancient history, and ECNL is a watered down waste of $," at which point the Rush folks will start claiming that "the future is ours."

If I had the time, I could write about a dozen posts in a row that would cover the whole conversation, and save you all the trouble. But I need to get back to work.

I think at last count there are more MPS players on Revs teams that any other club. So yes, really.

There's a kid on my D's team that played a half season for MPS at 9 years old, then left because the players were weak and disinterested, the coaches kept changing or not showing up at all, and games were a joke. She's a terrific player now - does MPS get credit for her "development" too?

No but the players that are on the Revs do. I Know nothing about the girls side of MPS. But on the boys side MPS has a strong record of developing players. And these are players that have been with the program for at least two years and in most cases much longer.
