We have been hearing from multiple parents that this team will be folding after this season, so just wanted to see if this was true? I can understand the frustration that the girls and parents are feeling, the last two seasons have been an absolute nightmare, with our team just getting pummeled each week. This season it has been tough to watch, the games have been ugly, we have scored 4 goals and given up 69 in 12 games, the development of the girls skills has declined, so maybe it is time to close the door on this team. Last year, at the end of the season, everyone blamed the coach, obviously that blame game turned out to be wrong, as the team has regressed even further this season under the new coach. so who or what is to blame this year? I would like to allow our daughter to stay with a couple of her teammates if/when they move to a different club, so where will most of the girls move to next season: Chargers, TBU, Dunedin, Oldsmar, Tarpon?

Sad for the girls
You would be better off at Dunedin, Oldsmar, or Tarpon. The bigger clubs like Clearwater and TBU has also done away with second teams and are only focused on the Elite/Premier teams. It might be a little late in the game, maybe not to play at that level. The story of WFF is that they take as many as possible for the numbers and don't train. Their U15G NPL team falls into the same thought pattern. A little too late. Good Luck. Let them play for the love of the game at Dunedin, Oldsmar, or Tarpon.

Have fun girls!!!!
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWow, 4 goals scored and 69 goals goals given up in 12 games, I don't think I have ever saw such lopsided numbers. I think that I would definitely be club shopping for my daughter if she had been a member of this team.
The best part about leaving this team will be to get away from the loud mouth clown with the gap between his teeth, everyone knows who this dad is......

There is a reason they are not on the WWF's ECNL or NPL teams. Other then TBU, all other clubs in the area only have one competitive team, so you can shop but most likely your daugther will not be picked up to play on these club's top (only) competitve team. Maybe at Dunedin, Oldsmar, or Tarpon she will, they are smaller clubs with less talented players. Remember...Dunedin, Oldsmar, or Tarpon are USA D2 clubs at best.

Both PCU and Dunedin have beaten this WFF team in the past year, so saying that the girls for WFF would be taking a step down to play at either of the clubs is laughable. Before the season started, we told the WFF administration that this team needed to be placed in a lower league since so many of the girls were pretty new, but they choose to ignore our pleas. I completely blame this pitiful season on the leadership at the club, alot of it had to do with greed and they completely failed these young ladies. We played both Dunedin and PCU in the West Pasco Tournament last season, lost to both, in fact, against Dunedin we were forced to play three girls from our advanced level team, but still lost. I cannot overstate my frustration with the leadership of the club, and we will definitly not be back next season.

One thing that I would like to point out. I have seen this type of thing happen in many clubs with many players. Essentially, soccer is like any other competitive sport. In order to be competitive you must devote yourself to it and work really hard at it. Its like anything else. You get out of it what you put into it. People can blame last years coach or this years coach or you can blame all their coaches from when they started soccer. The truth is that some kids are not born with the ability to be competitive at the highest levels and some that are born with it are not necessarily willing to do the work necessary to be great. There is nothing wrong with that. I do not think there is probably anything wrong with this team or the coach. I just think they are playing in a league that is too competitive for their ability. People can claim that the training in Tarpon or Dunieden is better but they are just playing at a lower level. If those teams played in the NPL you would see similar results. Bottom line is that you should go where you are happy.

Sad Truth
At this age, unless you are playing at the highest level, it is just rec. Sorry. Rec is still soccer. The two top teams in Region C have to go outside to get any kind of competition. The best players naturally migrate to the best teams. Sorry, but WFF NPL is still rec.

To think playing at another club will help the above problems would be a joke. Go find a club close to home and let your daughter enjoy the game. She and her teammates are obviously not top players and you just can't blame the club, any club, for that.
