I don't believe it. FC Stars is now much less appealing to half the state now. What a retarded move.

Really? Is the last sentence really needed. Are you that ignorant?

Hard to believe coming from this site. Besides he is one of their better more valuable coaches.

An email was sent to all Stars North families. This is the reason given:

"Unfortunately, we have been forced to terminate Greg Cosgrove’s roles within the club with immediate effect, due to his unwillingness to sign a non-compete agreement that is standard policy within our staff and is required of all coaches up to and including the Director of Coaching."

I don't blame him for not signing it. I'm confident he will be employed real soon.

Do players have to sign one too?

It was the wrong choice of adjective. It was a dumbass move on the part of Stars. Any coach in this business is crazy for signing a non compete...good for GC for sticking to his guns.

Cosgrove had one of the best resumes in the region. This is going to hurt Stars.

DOC has to sign the noncompete? well, yea, that's easy to do when the club is your own.

Give me a break. They steal BB and KD and MK and expect all their players to come to Stars and then all of a sudden decide its time to enforce a non compete clause? Something stinks.

Very unusual that one of the Stars original coaches was let go.
Agree that there must be more to the story.

Curious, is he the older gentleman that coached the U15 girls last year. If so, they are losing a class act. My daughter's team played against them

My daughter played for him, and I wish him the best. She is a better player and a better person because of what he has done for her.
