Proves Americans can coach

No it doesn't.

However, not to downplay his accomplishments, my congrats to Murph. I played against his good Assumption teams back in the day and with no recruiting budget and sh*t resouces, he made it happen. And they were good. Well done gaffa!

With all that emotional crap out of the way, it does prove Americans are getting more tactically savvy and more experienced in the world of management. Managing professional athletes is the hardest part. I always tell kids, if they want to get into coaching, be a second rate player and major in psychology. (seeing, understanding what you want done, then communicating that to your players is huge... then comes: how do you communicate the message?) I credit John for working his way up the very steep and creaky ladder, especially in the UK, they can be a-holes towards American coaches. He has found the magic method and applied it at every level, perfecting his craft has been an ongoing process, and he has found an environment where it works perfectly.

Once again, congrats John Murphy. You make us proud.
