Does anyone have any idea how the Bandits Cup has been impacted by the Stars Labor Day Tournament? I see that the Stars' brackets are posted and look good. None yet for the Bandits Cup. Its early yet but I was curious.

Also, I was thinking that Inter and Stars could have an incredible tournament if they joined forces. Maybe this will happen in the future. Another possibility could be Inter running the boys tournament and Stars running the girls. -

Only a couple playing up the MPS and Bolts teams are posted incorrect they are both U14 and not U13 I see it has been changed on the Stars website list. I think the only teams playing up are the U13 Boys Bolts (playing U14), U11 Boys NE Eagles (playing U12) Stars U11G (playing U12). Pretty impressive list of teams.Comment

I find it noteworthy that the Inter Bandits -- who had the same application deadline as the Stars -- have yet to post a list of the teams accepted. Getting back to the original question -- has the Stars event impacted the Bandits Cup -- the lack of a list of accepted teams suggests that the answer maybe yes.Comment

Bandits is usually listed rather late, but w/o doubt the Stars have made a huge impact on this tourney. SC and Stars leaving Bandits will likely result in Bandits dropping to silver status, probably lower. The girls side for Lancaster looks very strong for a first year tourney.Originally posted by bouba diop
This actually can make Bandits more fun for MA teams who normally could not compete in previous years. I know a wide open tourney with no perennial powers is fun for me to watch.Comment

Now it is incumbent on Stars to do a much better job than Bandits Cup has ever done seeding their tournament. Year after year (and despite repeated complaints) the Bandits Cup brackets were set up so the two favorites would meet in the semis (winner often moving on with PKs) with blowouts in the finals.
It had to be intentional that Bandits always set up the brackets that way - perhaps to make sure that the lower rated teams were still willing to attend or just to bust the stronger clubs' chops. It will be interesting to see the caliber of teams/clubs still attending Bandits Cup and whether the seeding improves this year. They'll have to do a better job now that they have local competition.Comment

No Mass state champions - three finalists I could find - Puma BU13 and BU14 and Fuller GU13 this is counting U12 as state cup.
New Hampshire teams - BU13 Classics
RI teams - GU13 Rays
ME teams - BU13 and GU13 Coastal teams
Probably missed some. No surprise boys' side looks stronger than girls' side.Comment
