    Beachside U16 girls folded

Heard through the rumor mill that Beachside U16 girls has folded? Anyone have any details?

    #2
You're right that its not listed on the list of teams on their website. BS girls teams do have a history of folding or moving to other clubs. The team that would have been next year's U17 team mostly moved to Yankee several years ago (and won State Cup this year). I think the team that would have been next year's U19 team moved to CFC around the same time.

Oakwood and FSA seem to have a talent for offering girls and boys programs that are equally strong. CFC and Yankee are very strong on ithe girls side onlly, where Beachside and Everton are istomg on the boys side only. It is no surprise that Beachside's girls teams fall apart after U14, as history is repeating itself with this club once again. I hope those girls can get on Arsenal or Yankee, and salvage their U16 year.

Oakwood has always been, and still is, stronger on the boys side. FSA is still a very young club -- back a couple of years when they were West Hartford Premier, their girls teams were decent but not much better than that.

Shouldn't group CFC and Yankee together on the boys side -- Yankee has no boys side. CFC's boys have gotten decent quite quickly.

Beachside's girls teams have generally been pretty good, but I just don't think MK. I just don't think MK is that committed to his girls programs and if there is a problem with a team, is more inclined to kill it than try to fix it. Everton is only recently strong on any side. I suspect that they will get their act together on the girls side in a couple of year.

Seriously? Let's be incredibly candid about why these blowups happen on the girls side: MK's model doesn't work because his girls program doesn't have a steady flow of new girls being attracted to the program (those newbies who don't know how it really works at BS). He plays only the best girls, the training stinks, and when they get to the recruiting age level (U16+) they can't compete. When parents figure this out they leave and eventually they don't have enough girls. He does the same thing on the boys side but he always has more players coming in than going out -- kind of like a Ponzi scheme. The guy is a total ***** to deal with and can get away with it on the boys side for this reason.

Hey MK: people are starting to figure you out, even with your new Just for Men hairdo!

Ii is difficult to "hear" your reasons why BSC is so bad when you have so much venom in your post.

My daughter felt that BSC provided excellent training, but unfortunately she had an abusive coach and thus decided to leave the club. I see now that it was fortuitous that she left when she did (the abusive coach aside) as the girls'side of BSC does not have a future beyond U15 - just as the critical years to be seen by college coaches start.

Your petty comment about MK was pretty childish.

Childish was MK today. Getting thrown out of the game today was childish.

Get over yourself MK. If you were more well respected in the world of us soccer Beachside would have been invited to the Academy. Obviously RD and BD are more grown up and very well respected

Just curious: did any other coaches get sent to the "time-out" tent besides MK? I would think it would be a pretty unusual thing at an event like the Regional Tournament to be sent off. This does not reflect well on a Club when the COACHING DIRECTOR gets carded. Nor does it reflect well on CT. I'll bet that the none of the FSA coaching staff has ever been sent off at this event.

Been around this sport for over 20 years. Not aware of any other CT coaches ever being sent off at Regionals. Certainly none among the top clubs in the state. Pretty egregious and disgraceful behavior. Not one of BS finer moments.

I would have to agree that it is highly unusual for a coach to get ejected at an event like this. He must have been really far over the line with what he said to the referee. The visual of a Coaching Director for a major CT club being escorted by Region 1 officials to a special tent reserved for bad behavior is one that we should all like not to see happen. Did he not read the code of conduct in the Region 1 Rules and Regulations? Or perhaps he doesn't think it applies to him? This does not reflect well on BS and is embarrassing for Connecticut generally. I wonder if CJSA will say anything to him? Probably not.

Will he ever grow up? Hopefully this even will out an end to his whining and throwing of his little tantrums. The poor u17 team. Not the type of unforgettable experiance you hope to achieve after all the years of personal and financial commitment.

Will he ever grow up? No. Will his recent failings (losing his best coaches over the past 4 years, having yet another girls team collapse and disappear, getting tossed from the Region 1 tournament for inappropriate conduct) cause him to modify his behavior? Don't hold your breath. Don't forget, not only did he not fire NR -- he actually gave him another girls team (I feel sorry for those poor 11 year olds). The handwriting is on the wall for this club but don't expect MK to be smart enough to see it and change before its too late...

I was turned to this website from another parent who told me how rediculous all of the comments were so for whatever reason here I came to take a look. And after reading several posts from different categories, I have come to this conclusion.

You parents/coaches who take the time to attack every club on this website, just to benefit your own ego, make me sick. I have been involved in the game of soccer for over 30 years in connecticut and I have never witnessed anything as embarrassing as this website. What troubles me is that you parents are the ones who are raising your kids, and I fear for them. There are the ones who have no choice but to sit at home and listen to your crap all day, and when they get sick of hearing it from you, you come on this website and believe others care what you think.

This goes out to every "Unregistered" Poster on this site, who think they have the right to attack those who dedicate their life to help the game of soccer........You are the scum of the earth, your ruining soccer for your children, and you know absolutely nothing about the game.

If you havent figured out why your child hasnt progressed in soccer the way you've wanted them too, take a good hard look in the mirror, because its your fault.

And I want to give credit to every person attacked on this site regardless of what club their from. Do you ever wonder why no respected coaches come here to respond to your comments? Its because they have lives with meaning and dont waste their time with the likes of any of you.

This is my first and last post on this site.

                            Shame on all of you!
