Maybe they have really good coaches.....maybe the individual development is very good....doesn't need to be about results all the time.....

Sadly, that is how all the experts on this forum judge teams/clubs.

when your clubs have 3 or 6 teams at the same age group. It's all about the money.

If you like the coaches and you feel your child is progressing and having fun, what business is it of anyone else. How about when that last place or d2 team does well and advances, the satisfaction cannot be described. Many top teams gather their players from other teams so winning is expected. Hard work and development are rewarding.

This is so true. My daughter left a very successful team, but one where the coach created a toxic environment. She played pretty much 100% of the time, and was a key player. She was unhappy with the coach's mind games, and how he pitted the team members against one another - among many other dysfunctional behaviors. She joined another club and has had a great experience this year. The two coaches are worlds apart. Her former team has been very successful this year, yet nothing would ever convince her to return to that toxic environment, especially now that she is in a normal, healthy competitive environment. For her, winning is not everything. I am proud that she made the decision to leave a toxic environment and has not looked back.

If parents/kids want to play on a premier team (regardless of how weak), why shouldn't they be able to get it? Pretty elitist and anti-free market to be opposed to it. The soccer version of the soup Nazi? "No coaching for you; you are not good enough!"

Hmm . . . Did the old coach's last name begin with the letter N?

No. In fact, if the coach you are referring to has a first name that begins with J, I think that coach is a great guy, and my daughter thinks so as well.
