NHPSA and Derry Soccer Club form Partnership

"NHPSA is delighted to announce a pilot program partnership with Derry Soccer Club that will involve the creation of new NHPSA Eagles teams at age specific groups.

NHPSA and Derry have been working closely together over the last 12 months, when NHPSA were initially retained by Derry Soccer Club to provide professional coaching at all levels of soccer in the town of Derry. This new pilot program will be a first of its kind for Derry.

The program will see specific Derry Eagles teams come under the NHPSA umbrella to form new teams called NHPSA Eagles. These teams will have a Full Time NHPSA staff member as Head Coach, with current Derry Eagles coaches taking up the role of Assistant Coach in order to provide continuity to the players.

“One of the large reasons we were attracted to NHPSA was their proven track record of developing players at the younger ages, as well as their ability to provide full time office support to their programs” said Gary Burt, President of Derry Soccer Club “The NHPSA Eagles Program will provide our top players and teams the opportunity to reach their maximum potential while staying within the town of Derry.”

Using age-appropriate curriculum developed by NHPSA parent company, Global Premier Soccer (GPS), this move will ensure that NHPSA Eagles players are receiving the highest level of coaching at a key stage in their development. Derry Soccer Club coaches will also be able to avail of the many coach development courses that GPS also have to offer.

“We are very excited about this expanded relationship with Derry” said NHPSA General Manager Mark McDevitt. “We have found them to be a very forward thinking soccer group whose aim is to provide developmental opportunities for all kids within their program”

Derry is a Div II club at best right now, but I am sure being close enough to Bedford that NHPSA can cherry pick players from both clubs to start creating teams that can compete in NH, maybe outside of the state. Other than a few existing teams NHPSA needs more input to become a premier club in NH.
