Two of the top 3, Aztecs and Western, played each other to a 4-4 tie tonight. Would have liked to have seen that game - anyone see the game?

That's a lot of goals. WU is usually very stingy.

This was a game that the players, coaches, and spectators won't soon forget. Played under the lights (as well as a full moon and snow flurries) on a cold, breezy Friday night on a huge turf field out in the boonies, the two teams battled hard for the full 70 minutes. The two teams were never separated by more than a goal. Western led 1-0 and 4-3; Aztecs led 2-1 and 3-2. Western had trouble with the speed and size of the Aztecs' striker and back line. Aztecs did a good job of executing the "short-short-long" passing sequences that the coach was encouraging. Western possessed well (especially in the second half) and converted the scoring chances they created inside the 18. Throw in a couple of defensive errors under pressure by both teams and you end up with a high scoring game. Both teams left apparently happy, definitely cold, and undoubtedly in search of hot chocolate.
