    WPS coming to CT

Who could be the owners? UnitedHealth is the only company I could think of that would be willing to support a team. They have their name on the NE Rev's jersey. CEO is a girls soccer fan. His daughter now plays for Soccerplus.

I think it would be successful if it is in the Hartford County area.

The Casinos might be interested in bringing WPS to Connecticut.

The best team in the league with Marta on it couldn't draw 3,000 a game. If this ceo you speak of is happy to give a donation to the WPS then you've got something. There is no money to be made here. You can give away thousands of tickets a game but that doesn't make you money.

Why do you think TD wants nothing to do with ownership. He is happy to coach but he's not stupid.

Well, they never really did figure out what their product was all about. They thought that "soccer" could be the product, versus really understanding the thing that causes people to go to these types of events.

But, nevertheless. I could definately forsee CT getting a team if it means just moving the team from Atlanta to CT. No need for new owners - just a relocation. With 5 teams left, what's the point of having a team in Atlanta?

They should just locate all these teams within a bus ride from each other and then open "premier club" branches as part of their operations and in between scheduled games Marta, Solo and Wambach can coach u-111, u-12, and u-13 games. They'll rake in the dough as premier clubs, create an instant fan base for ticket sales, and create the coolest parent stampede in history as the Massachusetts and CT parents all clamor over top of one another to get their U-6 kid onto the waiting list.

Nobody rakes in $ unless they hold massive 300-500 team tourneys. That is where the money is.
