    D3 Girl High School Soccer

I enjoy watching the smaller under dog schools play so i thought id start this thread. There is a lot of talent out there in D3 this year. Who are the schools making a impact in the each region? Any shocks in the north/south?

    South- Norwell, DS, Stoughton.
    North- Georgetown, Lynnfield, Weston.

Last year's top teams in Central were Sutton, Bromfield, Maynard and Hopedale. Sutton and Bromfield tend to be perennially among the top. Hopedale as of late has been making a name for themself. Don't know much about Maynard.

Don't think Lynnfield has what it takes this year.

Wait wait, check Lynnfield's record? What the heck happened to them? I expected more...

Georgetown isn't as strong this year either.

Sounds like Weston will take it again.

HW lost a great midfielder and has not been able to replace her. Isn't HW D2 though?

Not sure on Lynnfield. What about Ipswich?

Sutton, at 4-2-2, remains very much in contention. Their losses, both 1-0, came against Div 2 Nipmuc (ranked 6th in Central MA) and Holy Name (currently ranked 5th in Cenral MA) which boast a combined record of 14-2. Their draws, both 0-0, came against Div 2 Blackstone Millville (a solid enough team, but honestly, Sutton underperformed) and a strong Auburn squad that sits at 10-0-1 and ranked second in Central MA. Sutton will play Nipmuc again as well as Bromfield, Div 2 David Prouty and Div 1 Algonquin (who were lucky to come away with 1-0 victory last year).

Smart money's on Sutton to come out of Central MA and given the schedule they play, there won't be anyone in Div 3 that will scare them. That's not to say they'll win it all, but they'll be formidable.

Can't score and don't play as a team.

I think all have an issue scoring but Ipswich has already qualified for the tournament.

Its almost over, maybe 5 games left.

Whats new for this group? Anyone looking good, already in the tournament, any surprises?

Sutton sits with a 9-2-3 record. They have 1-0 loss and 1-1 draw against Div 2 Nipmuc who is ranked 4th in Central MA. They also took a tight 1-0 loss against against 6th ranked Div 2 Holy Name an impressive 0-0 draw against 2nd ranked Div 2 Auburn. Last Friday, they defeated traditional power Bromfield, 2-1. Still to come, 3rd ranked, Div 1 Algonquin. They're a legitimate contender, but whether they're as strong as last year, remains to be seen. The real surprise are the boys. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year, but they currently hold a 13-1-1 record and are ranked 4th in Central MA with their lone loss coming at the hands of top dog Div 1 North High.
