Because some club coaches think that HS coaches are clueless and they want to try and undo the damage done during the HS season before bad habits become engrained.

Club Fall training for high school age players is usually optional - for good reason. Players need rest and recovery days. Overtraining does not correlate to results. High school players practice/play sometimes 6 days a week. Any "bad habits" can be corrected by any decent club coach after high school season is over.

I don't see any club coaches running 2 a day practices for 3 weeks followed by 2 months of 6 days a week practices / games.
That is strictly a trick reserved for the HS coaches.
The club coaches need to keep the kids healthy for the other 10 months of the year. They are generally have much more to lose if they let kids get overtrained.

So you're kid isn't playing Stars (anymore, or ever). Big deal; it isn't and can't be for everyone. Don't be so pitiful.

BTW - most HS coaches back of the intense practices once the season starts. You are playing 2 to 3 games per week so practices become opportunities to reinforce technical stuff with the weaker players and tactical issues with the experienced players.
