MA 2 top 25 recruits in 2007 - anomaly or better clubs?

Nice accomplishment by Amy Caldwell and Bianca D'Agostino as they make the list of the nation's top 25 recruits. ( http://www.soccerbuzz.com/recruits07/topplayers.htm )

Is this an indication that the training and play is getting better; or just an aberration that two strong girls came along in the same year?

BD, Amy and Bianca have a great deal in common, having grown up in soccer families.

Bianca D'Agostino's brother, Tomasso, was also a US Youth National team member who recently was given a trial with the Bolton Wanders. She has an older brother who plays d-1 college soccer and her father and uncle played for Torino. I believe her father has coached for Oakwood FC.

Amy Caldwell's father, Larry, played for the Hartford Bicentennials of the North American Pro Soccer League. Her older brother, Keith, played at Brown, was drafted by the Colorado Rapids and now coaches for the Scorpions. Her sister, Andrea, also played in college and younger brother Scott, is now in residency at Bradenton.
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.

This post directed to Fred Marks -

Fred - must make you very proud to see one of your players continue to receive such positive recognition. You have a unique perspective from seeing Amy grow - coaching her in HS and having her be part of your club.

      In your observation:

      * Are there others like her coming in the younger age groups?
      * Are we (MA soccer community) getting better at helping talents like hers to develop?
      * Or was this just a special player who will come along every few years and the collective soccer community isn't really improving as a whole?

The good old days when Fred was posting under his own name. Then had his flunkies commending him and asking how many more great Scorpions were in the pipeline.

Wrong. FSM = Forward Soccer Mom. HB's mom.
