    NEP

    http://touchline.informe.com/new-englan ... dt297.html

Who will be in with MPS and Aztecs? Stars? Bolts?

What will this mean for MAPLE?

Is this what happens when you don't listen to your customers?

Bolts and Scorpions doin't have teams at all the age groups so that may be a problem for them.

It will be interesting, with the coaching license requirement, how the licensing of imported MPS coaches will apply. Not sure how they will enforce development of other clubs. Will MPS relegate every member club's training plan?

              Re: NEP

The interesting aspect here is the Aztecs (MPS have always done their own thing, and always followed what they believe to be the correct way of doing things). I doubt there going to leave MAPLE to sign up for a league if they have any concerns about the legitimacy of the administration.

This does appear to address at least a large amount of the issues that 'experts' always identify as deficiencies in the US game. In particular the over-emphasis on winning at the youngest ages. Whether it gets off the ground or not, and whether you agree with the reasons, it is nice to see two clubs putting aside rivalries and working together to improve the soccer experience in the state.

Because dopey, the clubs that belong to the league will each have a representative on the board.

"Membership and voting rights – one vote per club"

"The League will have a Board of Directors made up from 1 representative from each club participating in the league. Board members will also require a minimum coaching license – soccer decisions being made by soccer people"

But they will have 2 years to comply and the league is split U10-U14 and U15-U18, so a club may be eligible for one or the other or at least that's how it reads.

Of course they do. It says "USSF C License or EQUIVALENT"

When you consider MPS has recently moved into Aztec territory, this is quite amazing.

expect a tie in with the Breakers but ultimately this will be just MPS and the Aztecs with a hope that they can suplant the Bolts (boys DAP), Stars (girls Red Bull) and Scorpions (USYSA Nat) as the place for the very best players.

Not a chance, I was told Scorps and Stars have no interest in this and to be honest why would they. MPS are backed up against the wall, they are not getting competition in MASC, Super Y and after all they have said about Maple no chance playing there. So MPS want other clubs to come in a make there players and teams better with competition. No chance, they say it is about development but i think we all know the real reasons.

Of course they do if it was USSF liceses then probably 90% of the MPS coaches would not qualify to coach in this league.
