Acceptance list is up. Interesting item on the boys side, FC Blazers has 3 teams, but they did not field a team last year in all the preceding age brackets. Current U16 team is new, not in MAPLE, so how do they get accepted in SR1? How do they get seeded in SC?

Re: Sub Regional
easy, subregional league is not that big of a deal, they'll take teams just based on relationships, and in some instances, what you see accepted is all that applied.
i think you would be hard pressed to find a team that did not get in.

Re: Sub Regional
A collection of second tier teams, and the 2nd & 3rd teams from some DAP clubs on the boys side.
A lot of extra travel for no increase in competition. (Although the parents of kids in these clubs will now flame replies that this is a viable and competitive league)
But hey- these teams can now pronounce themselves as Region 1 participants.

Re: Sub Regional
Not second rate teams. Three of four best CT teams. One of best 3 MA teams. Several high level teams from Eastern NY. Pretty good competition on the girls side.

It's absolutely second rate. These teams couldn't qualify for Premier League. And with thye DAP teams not participating, Sub-Regional leagues fall further down the pecking order in terms of prestige and quality teams.
But congratulations for getting in anyway. Enjoy the long streteches of highway for MAPLE D2 quality games with sub par referees (if you're lucky enough to get more than one) and and a very primitive kick and run game.
Always remember that is about the winning, and the ability to brag to your friends and family that your little star is playing in a regional league.

Re: Sub Regional
Interesting situation in GU16 with 4 Massachusetts teams all entered. Added to the 3 teams in the Premier league we now have 7 teams playing in regional leagues! Two (Aztecs and Eagles) are playing in Maple as well, along with the Rays. This may underline the talent and/or ambition at this age group. The groups look evenly balanced if you take MM ratings into consideration but these don't reflect any recent modifications. The top-ranked team (HBC) are on a real up-swing and will be hard for anyone to beat in the red division although the Eagles have also undergone significant changes which could make them competitive. MPS has lost talent but the game against Eagles will be highly contested. HBC to win but not as easily as one might expect. On the Blue side the Aztecs have an excellent chance to prevail. Better talent than anyone in the division and if they can manage the Maple+Regional schedule without injuries/absences they may be expected to be at the top. VSA have also lost talent and had a poor record last year and would not be expected to be at the top. The Mass teams will have competitive games and I would put the level of both divisions at or slightly above Maple D1 at U16 and considerably above the MPS super-Y opposition in the Northeast. Thus, a good option for the teams competing
Blue division
South Central Cyber Rays [CT] 1312
New England Aztec [MA] 1301
Stony Brook Revolution [ENY] 1298
Manhattan Fusion [ENY] 1192
Seacoast Premier [NH] 1178
VSA United [MA] 1032
Maine Coast United [ME] 907
Maine Metro [ME] 894
Total 9114
Red Division
HBC Intense [ENY] 1354
CFC Arsenal [CT] 1191
MPS Renegades [MA] 1184
NEEFC [MA] 1173
Massapequa Storm [ENY] 1142
RI Rays Sting [RI] 1126
NH Classics [NH] 965
SUSC-ME Chaos [ME] 930
Total 9065
