Eagles U16 beat Palm Beach United 2-0. MM has Eagles at 1173 and Palm Beach United at 1091. A nice win: beating a solid Florida team that has been outside all fall, especially the last 45 days, while Eagles have been inside at Forekicks, and only about 8 practices at that since HS soccer seasons ended.

Yes but the FL teams are in HS right now, they are not together at all. If you have only had 8 practices since the middle of November then you are not getting much from your club.

The Marlboro delay cost some practices...but will go to 3 per week after Jan 5.

Left Foot - Just curious coach, player or parent of NE Eagles? Team has a big roster how was it decided who went to Florida and who didn't?

Part of the reason for the large roster is the team has quite a few kids who play winter high school sports. Those kids could not go to Florida due to their high school games/practices. Beyond that, any player who wanted to go to the tournament did go.

Sachem U17 lost 3-2 to a team from NY and just missed qualifying for the semis. :(

Mass teams did OK at this tournament.

Scorps U16 were 0-1-2 and did not advance, but 2 of the other 3 teams in their bracket had the same record.
Eagles U16 were 2-0-1 and advance to semis at 8 AM this morning.
Sachems U17 were 2-0-1. Win or a tie would have advanced them, but lost by 1 goal to the bracket winner.
