In case you want to get out and see some soccer on Sunday and help a worthy cause:
The 2008 NEWISA Soccer Bowl will be held this Sunday December 7th at 11 AM at Salem State College in Salem, MA. The New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association, which was formed by coaches back in the 1970’s, has held this annual event to honor those players who for four years have helped contribute to our programs and the growth of soccer in New England. The selection was done over a three week period of nominations and voting done by coaches throughout New England at each division. The game will consist of two teams featuring a combination of Division I, II and III players.
In addition, Salem State Women's Soccer and Coach Nicolle Wood has asked that we pass along this effort that will be held in conjunction with the NEWISA Senior Bowl:
Dear Coaches, Student-Athletes, and Fans,
Each year in the Northeast, thousands of individuals and families struggle to find food and shelter. During the winter months this struggle is also a struggle for survival. Please help us during the holiday season to assist the local homeless and impoverished families by donating a canned good or non-perishable food item on Sunday, December 7th from 10 am - 1 pm. All items will be collected at the soccer field at the O'Keefe Center in conjunction with the NEWISA Senior Bowl. We appreciate your assistance in this important effort to help our local community enjoy the holiday season.
Sincerely,
Nicolle Wood
Head Women's Soccer Coach/CHAMPS coordinator
Hope to see you on Sunday

NEWISA President
Head Coach, Daniel Webster College
