It may not for the individual player but it absolutely is important to the club if it is trying to position that team to be a "Destination Team" in the age bracket. The way the game looks like it is going to be played out now, regional rankings are going to become what the state rankings were a few years ago. The thing is, your kid doesn't have to be on that team at 13-14 to reap the benefits down the road. If they really are good at 15-16 one of those teams will almost certainly make room for them.
