To watch what? paint dry! desperate house wives! the MPS pr machine kicking into gear after 1 sc game!

U13 Renegades may be a team to watch....
I know, not nearly as strong as MPS teams from the past, they barely beat the Scorps second team (PKs!)
What happened? Why is this year's group not as strong?
Acutally, the Renegades have won 2 games. The should beat Western and are on a path to take on Explosion in the RR.

You are right....they should have been keeping up to speed with all the other PR machines that have been in high gear in here

I have seen all the U13G teams play this Fall and have this comments...
MPS is good team but, right now, cannot compete with the top 5-6 teams in MAPLE.
MPS has a great keeper and a good defense, although they are a little slow. The problem is that MPS is team of midfielders. They basically play a 4-6-0. Their midfield has excellent skills and speed and play tough but they have no scoring ability. Their forwards are not forwards...they play like midfielders. A well organized D will some speed will shut them down completely.
MPS might beat a good team if they get an early lead and sit on it. They are not a team that can come back well.
Western should beat them so I doubt they even make the RR but if they do, Explosion's speed will decimate their back line.

Is this the same MPS team that lost 10-0 to the Stars team in a scrimmage a few weeks ago at Lancaster?

Uh....do you remember the wether last weekend? How many inches of rain came down? Don't make any judgements off of that game.

Can you give me a reason why they would be a "team to watch..."?

UH . . . . you were playing on turf! UH . . . . it didn't really rain much during the game!
Were there actually any "good" state cup games this weekend as most of the "good" teams had byes for this round.
no
Yes it was, I was watching

Then please don't drive a car by yourself (numbnut) until you get your eyes checked -- that was a u-12
game.

Well, they've played two games, they tied the SCorpions second team and they beat a Berkshire team by two, a Berkshire team that has lost to a couple of division 2 teams by 2 goals and sits near the middle of the division 2 table.
Are you saying Renegades are a team to watch to be even with MAPLE division 2 teams?
Remember these girls have only played together as a team since the last week in August, that means they are doing fairly well for a team that has only been together for 1 month. You are comparing them to teams that have worked together for the most part for a few years. They still need to work on things, but have come out of the gate fairly strong. Sure they were lucky in the first game against the scorps, but you watch they will be a force come June.

I have seen this team play and they are far and away NOT going to be a force come June ( if you are implying that they have a real shot at State Cup glory). They do have a great goalie, but as for the rest of the team. Solid Div 2 fodder. They will not do anything against the top 5 or 6 Div 1 teams. They may give the Bolts a game, but still I would think the Bolts would be a 2 goal favorite. The Bolts are in the same boat as this team (as in being "new"), but they have much more talent throughout and a seemingly better system of play at this point.
Remember the Bolts are being blown out in Div1, MPS does not have a shot
Just an FYI this team beat the Bolts at the Stars tournament and played two very competitive games against BWRI. True they lost both 1-0 but, that was the first weekend they played together as a team. Believe what you want, but I do know for sure they are far and away a better team than the Bolts. The Bolts are not a new team, my understanding is they only picked up a few new players, they players they claimed to have didn't end up there and yes they have a new coaching staff true. The Bolts are a true D2 team, as witnessed by their play to date.

I seem to recall the same thoughts about last years U13 Renegades....you know...the ones that made the finals?
