    Seacoast Tournament

We were up at Seacoast this weekend. A little nippy, but a fun time overall. Games ran late on Sunday, so while we were waiting for the field, we caught the second half of the u13 MPS vs. CFC game.

The coach for CFC can only be described as a ****! Constantly berating his girls or yelling at them to "tackle" the other players. Never heard a positive thing out of his mouth. Thankfully, he finally closed his trap after his team gave up a couple of goals.

The worst line was when he yelled at a player to "use your brain".

Sounds like someone in the goalie blunder thread.

Many of the coaches of that Club behave in a similar manner.
            Was there an accent?

That type of screaming is universal. There are no borders.

It tends to be universal in this particular club. I suspect it may contribute to why CFC hasn't seen the same success that many other top R1 clubs have seen, despite their model where the best players from their various state regional teams merge into one team at U15.

                    Not according to them.

Connecticut is oversaturated with " premier " Clubs.

What is a state regional team? They have four branches, Arsenal, Impact, Wolves/Wildcats and now Gunners which feed the CFC United teams which start at 15's. Yelling has stunted the development of their teams?

Same as Massachusetts except better overall quality.

Not anymore, the top Mass clubs are higher quality nowadays.

                          Maybe 10 years ago.

Regional, as in what part of the state the teams draw their players. Wolves are around Hartford area, Arsenal is around Newington, Impact around New Haven.

Kids don't learn by being yelled at, they learn by being taught and good coaches know that.

Arsenal = Fairfield County, not Newington, which is near Hartford
Gunners = Waterbury out toward Danbury
