The Soccer Domain coaches know what they are doing. They do a great job developing a much smaller talent pool. Their program draws town soccer numbers, but is coached as well as any club. A few of the girls on the current U18 team could play for any team in Ma. Unless and until SDA, WU, Westenhook, and any other smaller clubs combine, we won't be seeing any regional or national level teams, yet there'll still be plenty of skilled, individual talent.

This club/team wasn't on my radar but I see they are GS #3 in MA which is surprising given the small size of the club and limited recruiting area you wrote about. Do they have 1-2 dominant players? How did they get so high in the ratings for such a small club/area?

Interesting what you can find out from visiting the website. Apparently, this is a relatively new announcement and I'm not sure how it will affect the Soccer Domain teams in Massachusetts but they are now affiliated with Chelsea FC. The Matchfit organization is first class, we have played some of their teams at PDA.

Match Fit Chelsea and Sports Domain Academy Launch Tri-State Regional Development Centers

BAYONNE, NJ– Match Fit Chelsea and Sports Domain Academy (SDA) are proud to announce the creation of an exciting new alliance called World Wide Soccer Group (WWSG).

Directed by Jordan Raper, the new entity will create and operate Regional Development Centers (RDC) strategically placed across the Tri-State area. The U8-14 RDCs will allow elite level soccer players the opportunity to stay within their local area, yet receive the level of training associated with Match Fit Chelsea academies. The centers will be operated by leading Match Fit Chelsea and SDA (formerly Ashley’s Soccer Camp) staff with a 1:10 ratio of coaches to players.

Match Fit Chelsea Director of Operations and new WWSG partner John Calcaterra: “We combined the quality of our Chelsea Football Club curriculum and team resources with the training and facilities of SDA to ensure that the highest level of training is available for all players in the Tri-State area.”

SDA President and new WWSG partner Ashley Hammond: “Club teams will benefit hugely from this as it expands on the idea of playing soccer for teams like Match Fit Chelsea and SDA whilst retaining club allegiance and membership with the home team.”

Match Fit Chelsea Technical Director, Malcolm Murphy added: “For us at Match Fit Chelsea this gives us an opportunity to extend our training and playing philosophies to a greater audience. The greater the amount of young American players following the Chelsea FC Academy curriculums the quicker the rate of development is going to be in this area. It also allows Match Fit Chelsea to continue toward its goal of being the leading player development club in the Tri-State area.”

Additional details on the World Wide Soccer Group and its Regional Development Centers and how players and clubs can join will be released over the coming weeks. For more information visit: http://www.matchfitacademy.net.

It will be interesting to see if SDA of MA is part of that deal and if they switch names and go to Chelsea uniforms and such and if the parents just pay more for the name or actually do get better training and opportunities. Certainly the NJ SDA program has been successful, not sure if they can duplicate that in MA, especially out in Western MA.
