Got to love Harvard University NOT! NEFC Tournament

    Preseason Tourney Teams:

If you are receiving this email, your team is scheduled to play at Harvard University on Saturday.

    We
are pleased to have access to this great facility and these great
fields, but unfortunately, they charge for parking at this facility.

The charge is $10 per car.

    We
are going to do parking passes for your teams. We would appreciate all
efforts to carpool for these games as it will save us money.

Please let me know in the next 24-48 hours how many parking passes you would like, and we will accommodate.

Thank you for your time and understanding,

    Patrick Marino
    Tournament Director

Good on NEFC for paying for the passes, could be a significant cost for them.

Then who is paying? I'm sure the bait and switch masters at Harvard aren't

            NEFC and Harvard

From all I have seen, NEFC has done their best to run a solid tournament in their first year. Yes, Patrick M has been late with schedules and had to completely redo the girls side once the schedules got issued, but the fact is he did the reschedule in the interest of providing a better tournament.

Our club has more than 15 teams in the two sides combined and we are happy to be part of this first year event. It is important to have quality pre-season tournaments in this area. It saves the parents the cost of traveling south for what can be bad weather once you get there.

If NEFC is taking care of the $10 Harvard parking cost, what else can they do? Havard owns the feilds, NEFC needs the fields, there is no parking in the area other than the $10 lots and NEFC is supplying passes.

Sounds like NEFC is doing the best they can to me.

Terrible that Harvard is gouging people; terrific that NEFC stepped up to pay for parking.

Ever been to Disney where you have to pay for admission to the games?

They charge the same for all events. NEFC would know this up front so to try to shift the blame is foolish.

If they (NEFC) are providing parking passes, it's a non issue. Shame on Harvard for taking advantage of a non school event.

You are quite wrong. Harvards' longtime MO is rent something out and then lay out additional "extras" later on. Had NEFC known, 1. the message would not have come out so late and 2. They would have factored in the parking passes into the entry fee. You may not like NEFC, but the whole purpose of sponsoring a tornament is to make money for the club, not to get gouged by pure greed. They do not charge the same for all events.
