SD - well, out of my league (pun intended!) on this one. My girls are U13. But it will be fun to watch!

Best of luck to all the teams!

      Cheers

SD- Oh you are too kind! LOL! :o Only 2x but hey, this season is still young!

On a total side note, I've heard some rumblings over at WSM re: Ben & the Fury team. Is there any legitimacy that they lost a bunch of players? Will that affect the Strikers too? (Isn't Ben coaching them as well?) I know it's probably just gossip and I should mind my own business but the soccer community in Oregon, although growing, is still intimate.

            Cheers :D

Re: Qualifications - Who Is Going Where?

Hey SD... Interesting challenge. Of course, it's the teams playing as we predict, that rarely seems to happen. But I'll give it a shot. Here's how I see the CQT's turning out (Top four finishers by group):

GROUP 1: Recap - Ireland is still the leader of U14 pack, and CFA, RVSC & Sting are delighted to be in their CQT bracket... because they're guaranteed NOT to face them on PQT weekend. \:D/
                1 SSC Ireland
                2 CFA Red Hots
                3 RVSC Storm
                4 Sherwood Sting

GROUP 2: Recap - Bend's A team takes honors as clubs' merger brings several new players; giving them a solid D-line to go with a top flight midfield corps. PCU benefits from otherwise soft bracket to claim 2nd.
                1 OR Rush Nike
                2 PCU Ice
                3 OSA Milan
                4 Roseburg Revolution

GROUP 3: Recap - Bridlemile is only team in group with a chance to unseat Marine, and it's a slim chance. The 2-4 slots could be completely interchanged , but BSC should prevail with EMFC and CFC fighting for 3rd.
                1 FC Portland Marine
                2 BSC Black Magic
                3 EMFC Phoenix
                4 CFC United

GROUP 4: Recap - Another bracket with the top-seeded team cruising to first while anything goes at 2nd thru 4th. WUSC looked good at Nike Cup and should be Sunderland's runner up.
                1 ESU Sunderland
                2 WUSC Valencia
                3 THUSC Sapphire
                4 Canby Mystics

GROUP 5: Recap - You read it here first... Dynamite knocks defending State Cup Champs out of first! A very physical ESU B team gets to 3rd in an otherwise ho-hum bracket. Possibility that FC Portland Aqua squeeks into 4th, but I'll go with HSC.
                1 LOSC Dynamite
                2 FC Willamette Possession
                3 ESU Reading
                4 Hillsboro Alliance

GROUP 6: Recap - This bracket is a lot like betting on greyhounds... you know there's going to be at least three finishers, but you really haven't got a clue which order they'll be in. Ginga and Harambee (My 2nd favorite team!) should both be glad the Washington teams are not coming back this year. As it is, one (maybe both) will make it back to Gold. Two "B" teams round out the Premier qualifiers.
                1 FC Willamette Ginga
                2 WSM Harambee
                3 SSC Eclipse
                4 LOSC Edge

All that being said (with the help of my Ouija Board & Magic 8 Ball), the PQT brackets would look like this...

                PQT Group #1: 1-SSC Ireland 2-THUSC Sapphire 3-ESU Reading
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 SSC Ireland / GOLD
                2 ESU Reading / SILVER
                3 THUSC Sapphire / D1

PQT Group #2: 1-OR Rush Nike 2-EMFC Phoenix 3-SSC Eclipse
                Order of Finish / Relegation
1 OR Rush Nike / GOLD
                2 EMFC Phoenix / SILVER
                3 SSC Eclipse / D1

PQT Group #3: 1-FC Portland Marine 2-OSA Milan 3-LOSC Edge
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 FCP Marine / GOLD
                2 OSA Milan / SILVER
                3 LOSC Edge / D1

                PQT Group #4: 1-ESU Sunderland 2-RVSC Storm 3-Hillsboro Alliance
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 ESU Sunderland / GOLD
                2 RVSC Storm / SILVER
                3 HSC Alliance / D1

PQT Group #5: 1-LOSC Dynamite 2-CFA Red Hots 3-Canby Mystics
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 LOSC Dynamite / GOLD
2 CFA Red Hots / SILVER
                3 Canby Mystics / D1

PQT Group #6: 1-FC Willamette Ginga 2-PCU Ice 3-CFC United
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 FCW Ginga / GOLD
                2 CFC United / SILVER
                3 PCU Ice / D1

PQT Group #7: 1-WSM Harambee 2-BSC Black Magic 3-Roseburg Revolution
                Order of Finish / Relegation
1 BSC Black Magic / GOLD
                2 WSM Harambee / SILVER
                3 Roseburg Revolution / D1

PQT Group #8: 1-WUSC Valencia 2-FC Willamette Possession 3-Sherwood Sting
                Order of Finish / Relegation
                1 FCW Possession
                2 WUSC Valencia / SILVER
                3 Sherwood Sting / D1

So here is one guy's opinion on how the Fall 2008 Leagues shape up...

                PREMIER GOLD
                Southside SC Ireland
                OR Rush Nike
                FC Portland Marine
                Eastside Utd. Sunderland
                Lake Oswego SC Dynamite
                Bridlemile SC Black Magic
                FC Willamette Ginga
                FC Willamette Possession

                PREMIER SILVER
                Eastside Utd. Reading
                Eugene Metro FC Phoenix
                Oregon Soccer Academy Milan
                Rogue Valley SC Storm
                Corvallis FA Red Hots
                Cascade FC United
                Westside Metros Harambee
                Willamette Utd. SC Valencia

                DIVISION ONE
                Tualatin Hills Utd. SC Sapphire
                Southside SC Eclipse
                LOSC Edge
                Hillsboro SC Alliance
                Canby Mystics
                Portland City Utd. Ice
                Roseburg Revolution
                Sherwood Sting

That's it! We'll see what kind of handicapper I am... Good luck to all over the QT Weekends! :D

Word on the street is that Ireland just landed a new player from the Nemisis.

                    Any truth to this?

SD, I can't contribute much other than I know OSA Milan lost their two best players to FC Pdx Marine and LOSC Dynamite, so they might not quite be up to playing Silver. Any other info out there that might provide some insight?

SD- the Swoosh White team is the C team and they won't be in Div 1. There is a chance for the Swoosh Blue might make Div.! but it will be hard for them to get there. The Blue team has 3 game on Saturday doesn't seem fare and there are other teams that do that too in all the brackets.

Does anyone know what size field they have at Crystal Lake? I hope they are bigger than what we had last weekend for LO Tournament.
