    CASL Shootout Boys U15 Recap

    In the Top Division (Champion-A):

Group A: Michigan Wolves proved why they are one of the top teams in the Nation. They had no problems breezing through that bracket (11 goals for and only one against).

CASL Elite belongs there to with 2 wins and one loss (to Michaigan). CASL was the only team to score on Michigan in the entire tournament. They ended up with 5 goals for and 2 goals against.

BRYC once again could not come out on top against top flight competition. They get accepted to a lot of high level tournaments but never seem to advance out of pool play. They ended up with 5 goals for (all against East TN) and 4 goals against.

How did Tennessee get in this top division? They had 0 goals for and 14 against. Hopefully, it was a good learning experience for them.

Group B: YMS also proved to be a top caliber team and why they are one of the top teams in the country. Their road was a little tougher, wins against Potomac Internationals and Cobb FC and a tie against Roanoke. They played Michigan the toughest losing in the finals in PK's. They ended up with 4 goals for and 2 goals against.

Cobb FC came in second in this group with wins over Potomac Internationals, Roanoke Star, and a loss against YMS. I'm sure the Dallas Cup champions will continue to be a force in Region 3. They ended up with 4 goals for and 2 goals against.

Roanoke ended up third in this group but may have been the biggest surprise with ties against YMS and Potomac and a loss against Cobb FC. From what I can gather this was their first top flight tournament against Regional powers. They did win U.S. Club soccer but it looks like they were in the Premier group and not the Super Group. In my opinion they came in the least tested of all the teams in this group. They gave up 3 goals in the four games but were the only team besides Michigan to score on YMS.

Leaving Potomac Internationals as, perhaps, the biggest disappointment. With all the experience they have against Regional powers and top flight tournaments you would think they could have gathered more than 1 point in the three games. They did score 2 goals but gave up 5.
