    Ukies to GAL

Tremendous news, they should be able to pick off quite a few ECNL players now.

Doubt it...ECNL growing with addition Penn Fusion and PDA South. Most likely ECNL-regional teams will get stronger and that league better. Tons of changes happening at Bucks.

Is ECNL growing or becoming watered down? That is the question, only time will tell...

And nobody really aspires to be in the RL and be the second team at a club. Soccer landscape is always changing and evolving - we will all see where it leads...

Great point and we’ve added the coach from RU which is one of the top programs in the country and def on East Coast. That should count for something!

Good move on their part. It will bring much needed competition to the ECNL in this area. As consumers we should all be rooting for the success of this league.

Only too long before we are ECNL with the RU connection now. FC Bucks kids better jump on board now.

Competition is a good thing. Moves like the ones Ukies are making -not only improves the Ukies, but also forces other local clubs (i.e., FC Bucks and Delco) to improve as well. Just look at what has happened to the youth soccer landscape in SE PA in just a few short weeks.

Unless you were willing to travel further to PDA, FC Bucks and Delco used to have a monopoly in terms of playing in an elite league and the exposure to college coaches that comes with that. Because they had a monopoly, there was no need for those clubs to continuously improve and the result was two clubs vying for last place and second to last place year after year with dismal college placements. No more, with the addition of PDA South and Penn Fusion to ECNL, and now with Ukies playing in a comparable the GDA, which is shaping up to be comparable to ECNL, everyone is being forced to up their game.

This is completely true with Bucks. For years their DOC did nothing and just relied on players coming because it's ECNL. Now Bucks has new DOC and every position and coach has changed. Many players may come to Ukie's if they don't want to play RL.

or even go to the Ukies if they aren't sure how the new placements are going to work out. The known could be better than the unknown

FC Bucks is definitely making some positive changes, but they are still hampered by their own lack of facilities. There were plans to build a turf field at the other Council Rock school, but those are now on hold indefinitely.

Their second teams will be EDP - look on soccer wire for the announcement about girls academy league - they will be in the mid Atlantic conference.
