He's voted with Trump 80% of the time. Religious, socially amd fiscally conservative. Oh wait, the GOP doesn't care about fiscal responsibility any longer.

Mitts risk isn't as huge as the media is portraying. He's very popular in UT, and his religious reasoning for his vote will play well with Mormons who don't like Trump's lack of morals. He doesn't have to run for 4 more years and voters will have forgotten. He will survive Trump's Twitter thrashing.

Funny how the libtards now love the guy they hated back in 2012. That’s why you lose all the time. Your colors change with the wind. Why don’t you grow some balls and stick to a principle, any principle instead of throwing a 3rd grade Pelosi tantrum!

Fact: A majority of Republicans believe Trump did something wrong. They also believe that it’s a bad standard to set to allow a president to obstruct congress.

However, he is all in on their issues. They believe that by voting to remove him it would hurt their agenda and reelection hopes.

This is simple self interest in the big picture. Republicans believe that by swallowing their moral values now they can move forward in the future.

History will be brutal to politicians who put party over country. The senators who voted to acquit Trump should read the obituaries of those who opposed Nixon's impeachment:

Please tell me you’re joking. Coming from the party that has done nothing to help this country in order to take down the POTUS from the opposing party. And you morons wanna lecture us about party over country. Once again, you’ve proven your deep seated hypocrisy. If the Dems actually did their jobs and worked for the American people, you probably wouldn’t be in the shît hole that the Democratic Party is in right now. Face it, You did this to yourselves.

No joke. Read the article. If you're a republican senator, do you you want the first line of your obituary (and your online legacy) to be that you supported the most compromised and corrupt president in American history?

Unfortunately we have an a bunch of selfish sycophants in congress who are unable to look past the next election.
