    Parent coaches in middle/high school

    Thoughts?

At the club level parent coaches are fine if they meet the club's requirements for employment (whatever licensure that club requires) BUT under no circumstances should they coach their own kid. Unless you're playing town rec level parent coaches shouldn't be part of the equation no matter what the age.

Club coaches dealing with their own kids are bad for the kid, bad for the other players and bad for team spirit. It is only good for the club's bottom line and the parent's ego. And perhaps waistline.

Parents should never be able to coach their child in HS unless, he/she was the coach long before the child was HS eligible
