FC Boston an ECNL club in name only...

Taking a quick look at the ECNL and NPL standings across all age groups, it appears that FCB more closely resembles an NPL club than an ECNL club. In 4 out of the 6 age groups the team is in the bottom third of the table.

In many age groups there is little difference between ECNL and NPL teams.

The club might be better served dropping ECNL and playing in the NPL league.

OR.... top tier NPL players should be motivated to go get ECNL exposure. Looks like there are spots

Who wants to drive to philly to play youth soccer? Just because your player has talent doesn't mean they area foolish enough to commit to that.

Great point. The travel requirements for ECNL are ludicrous.

And off we go on a Monday morning. Nothing like some good 'ol Scorps-FCB bashing to get the week rolling. Wonder who started this one.

Someone will always be in the bottom third. Why doesn't everyone just play town soccer? Not your dime. Not your time. Don't like don't do it. Very simple.

              True.
But the exposure and stature of NPL is ludicrous, considering the travel demands are significant

NEFC realizing DAP is not happening for a lot of their players and they are jumping to FC Boston. ECNL is a terrific league. That's why NEFC players are jumping.

Nope. NEFC got who they want for DAP and it is happening. Keep trying to be relevant.

Why in the world would any top NEFC players jump to FC Boston??? If anything, Stars is going to need players as they are attempting to have both ECNL and DAP, which will cause significant dilution. So I could certainly see players going there as they are a strong club.

Keep in mind the players that are jumping are players that were not provided with waivers, so mid to bottom level players. Not sure those players are going to significantly help FC Boston, if in fact any are going there, which I highly doubt.

Every girl who got offered a spot on DA from our top team, has accepted except for a very few who have chosen to drop down to NPL instead. Not one is going to another club. Could be a few on other age groups, but not on ours

NEFC is so close to being banged up. DAP is Breakers holding a ransom over NEFC which luckily knows no ends to amount of $ it can toss at youth soccer.

If the NENPL league members say to NEFC, we want only top teams in our league, and replace them with another club after this year, NEFC is in big trouble in my opinion. Seems logical that is the next step after adding SS Select last year.

Not going to happen. GPS already has two NPL teams in at least one age group that I know of, MA and NH. And FC Stars West NPL has teams in multiple age groups, and they are NOT a top team. If needed NEFC will have the top "regional" team in each age group, which would allow them to have multiple teams at certain age groups. If anything New England NPL will be expanding.....

That's what was said about SS Select never getting in too.

Why would SS Select, Bayside, Seacoast and Aztec want the NPL league get further diluted by allowing regional NEFC teams in their own backyard to be included? It's one thing to let the NEP winner in but on a consistent basis, should they decide to protect their own turf a bit more, I can see NEFC being replaced pretty soon. Those clubs have to be tiring of NEFC's ambitious expansions that result in them losing players, teams and coaches to NEFC. Seems like a logical next step to protect their clubs and the league. We'll see.
