What does development look like to you in the U-15 and older players

So much is said about finding the right fit, the right coach focusing on development. In the older ages does development still happen? ive seen players' confidence lessen with less playing time as the stronger ones get more playing time. But do coaches actually develop their layers in the older ages?

Good coaches still develop players through all ages.

A coach that cares bout doing his job wants his players to improve over time. It will make the team better and more competitive. The teams they play don't remain static nor can they. Of course not all coaches care, but that's true of any age, not just the older players. How they do that will vary at the older ages vs younger in terms of how they manage practices etc but the thought process is there.

Part of development is teaching the kids to accept a role. Not everyone can receive equal playing time and not everyone deserves it.

Yeah kids can flounder for one team and flourish with another. Their "careers" are short and you are paying a lot. Crazy to ride the pine given all that is sacrificed. Especially if your kid can thrive elsewhere. It's a very subjective game.

If you correlate developing to playing in the game, stick with town soccer.
