    The definition of "elite"

elite: noun /i'lit/ - those people or organizations that are considered the best or most powerful compared to others of a similar type.

By definition an "Elite Team" should be just that, the top boys or girls team in a particular birth year within a particular soccer club.

How many Elite Teams does your club have per gender and birth year?

Elite is a marketing term in soccer. It has less and less to do with talent every day.

Many of the bigger clubs now use Elite for their top regional teams, so in regards to those "similar types" they are elite. NEFC has now also gone to this format, and no longer use Elite for their top overall teams. Now they do what most of the other clubs do for those true top teams... use the League (ECNL, NPL or DA) to label them.

It's time we all BAN the word Elite from soccer!
It has truly jumped the shark.

In club soccer the word "elite" is used to describe the coaches, not the players.

Elite should be replaced with "wicked good".

In most cases, the word "Elite" equates to "above average".
