Club and High School?

How does everyone on here do both club and high school soccer? With club tournaments in the middle of the high school season, how does everyone do both? Or, do you only do club or only do high school?

It is pretty easy. Most Tournaments do not affect the HS schedule. Only Raleigh seems to affect some games. Most HS coaches understand that a showcase is important and lets them go.

I think they fly on Friday and return Sunday from Raleigh. The OC is over the Christmas break.

Vegas in March and Houston in June. Not much of a conflict at all.

How does such an average team get into such big tournaments? I am just wondering not trying to be mean but from your records you are average yet getting into very good tournaments??

Don't have a clue. She goes where they tell her she's going. This will be her third trip to CASL. It's her favorite because it's cold, that's good enough for me.

The team does have it's ups and downs,but, the ladies have hung together so far.

It's nice to hear something positive on this site. Stick withg something even when it's not so good is a good lesson for kids. Good Luck in Raleigh.

Gaither/Countryside game is the Friday of Raleigh this year. There couldn't be worse scheduling!

The biggest clubs with the most clout get into the biggest tournaments. Ask any college coach and they will tell you most have no idea who the best teams may be in a given year but they do know the names of the bigger clubs with the best reputations for sending players to college. Those are the teams they will go to see. If your daughter is a "real player" she will either get seen at Regional or National ODP or she will get seen at the biggest tournaments in the country so if she's not a top ODP player she better be at one of the biggest clubs or she wont ever get seen, period.

That's the school's fault. Whoever they sent to the scheduling meeting screwed up. Of course, if one team has a lot of kids missing and the other doesn't, only one screwed up. The other may have done it on purpose.

Raleigh has games on Friday, we are flying out on Thursday night!

Raleigh should not affect the Countryside High School team. I doubt any of their players are on teams that are going. (At least on the girl's side)

Are HS games allowed to be rescheduled? Or if the HS is missing 5 of their starters they must still play? What is the rule on this?

They must play. Missing 5 starters doesn't mean the game should be rescheduled. That is why some teams keeep 20 players. Plus they can fill in with JV players if they have to
