What are your thoughts on the rise of VA NPL? Is WAGS and CCL getting decimated?

define "rise"?
CCL was the beginning of the end for WAGS, and CCLII will be another nail in their coffin every year that league ages up.
Not sure what "rise" of VA NPL there is in the foreseeable future, but the CCL clubs/teams are stronger across the board than the NPL clubs/teams. -
VA NPL is still second fiddle to CCL
Not sure what your basis is for thinking VA NPL is challenging CCL. Keeping PWSI would have been good for CCL but I'm not sure what else VPL has done that has hurt CCL. No one regrets missing out on the Richmond B teams. Va Rush would be a nice club to have in CCL but not sure anyone wants another drive to VA Beach to play. FCV has some good teams but the club as a whole doesn't seem focused on development but more about recruiting teams and players so they don't fit into the CCL vision. State Cup results shows that CCL is going strong.
Now for WAGS, VPL has certainly hurt them, especially with the addition of VYS and CYA, which had teams in basically every WAGS age group. Now few if any of those teams will challenge to win a division in VPL, but it still hurts the relative quality and cash flow in WAGS.
But it's not just VPL that's hurting WAGS; LMVSC was an original member of WAGS but now their top two teams will be competing in CCL and CCL II, so their move from WAGS has a similar impact as VYS and CYA combined.Comment

I would go so far as to say that WAGS is dead in Northern VA. All that's left is really some decent MD clubs (if they're not already in CCL) and the western/southern clubs outside of NOVA. And even those teams will be sitting out for HS or Region 1 leagues, so you'll lack any consistent quality from season to season.Comment
