The current standings for Class B were posted on the "NEPSAC Girls 2014" thread last night.

Don't think that they have actually had the meeting yet to set the seeding. Might this be last year?

NEPSAC committee meets Sunday night to determine who gets in. It is very confusing what school plays in what class playoff bracket. B school South Kent beat B school Berkshire, but Berkshire has won A playoffs the last 2 years. Why they play in A though they are a B school, no idea. Why South Kent plays in B playoffs while beating the A champs, no idea. And no idea where Bridgton fits into all this with 100% PG's. It seems to be a pretty haphazard way of determining the A, B, C, or D playoff fields.

South Kent has to be the huge favorite for the B crown based on their record and their win over Berkshire. Other B teams that should get in are Rivers, Pomfret, Wilbraham & Monson. Usually 4 teams from ISL/eastern NE and 4 teams from WNEPSSA get in. But I'm not sure how hard and fast this rule is.

This was posted in the NEPSAC thread last week. It explains a lot of how things work. One other issue that comes into play is the number of PG players a school usually has. That is one of the differences between a day school and a boarding school that the coaches themselves try to equate out. Everyone needs to also recognize that there is much more of a sense of cooperation between these schools than there is in other settings. They tend to do things for the greater long term good with a strong sense that the education mission comes first which is why they never really react to a school having a good run for a couple of years. They all recognize that the schools as institutions will outlast the players and coaches of these teams so they do a pretty good job of keeping things "real"

              from the nepsac site:

Classification: The members of the NEPSWSA Executive Board review all NEPSAC
schools individually. In keeping with the criteria outlined by the NEPSAC Executive Board
(see page 14), schools are classified on the basis of female enrollment at the start of each
school year. NEPSWSA has set the female enrollment parameters as follows:
              -Class A: 250 and above
              -Class B: 180 to 249
              -Class C: 110 to 179
              -Class D: 110 and below

In conjunction with female enrollment numbers, NEPSWSA uses the following when
              determining class:
              -Strength of program
              -Non-league schedule
              -Program history
              -League affiliation

Schools may appeal their classification to the NEPSWSA Executive Board no later than
October 1st of each fall season. If the board denies an appeal and the school contests the
denial, the appeal then moves to the NEPSAC Executive Board for a final decision. All
teams must be classified by October 15th. [/quote]

would teams that have consistently played and performed well in the tournament over the past few years have an advantage over other teams that have similar records but have not been in the tournament?

High school teams change radically every year so it depends upon who is on the roster and how much of that experience they actually shared in.

I'm not OP but that post appears to be a prediction of the girls seedings based on the current standings. Some teams still have a game to go tho.

                    Last years first round was:
                    Tabor vs Lawrence
                    Rivers vs Hopkins
                    Governors vs WMA
                    Groton vs Williston

That means only three ISL teams? Don't see how MX can get in.

                          WM?

On the girl's side, Wilbraham gets a top 4 seed, most likely a 2.

Good point. Tough to choose between Pomfret and WM. They tied 1-1 and have similar results versus common opponents. Why KU? What big wins did they have? How do the ISL B's usually stack up with the WNEPSSA B's? South Kent obviously the best of all the B's but what about the rest?
